DAWN ELDER (New Zealand)
Professor Dawn Elder, MBChB, DCH, FRACP, PhD, is Head of the Department of Pediatrics and Child Health at the University of Otago, Wellington, New Zealand and works as a pediatrician at Capital & Coast DHB Wellington. Dawn has clinical pediatric specialist qualifications in both neonatal medicine and pediatric sleep medicine and research interests in sleep and breathing in preterm and term infants as well as in the older pediatric age range.
Current active areas of research are measurement of sleep in primary school children in deprived and non-deprived environments and assessment of cardiorespiratory stability at neonatal discharge of preterm infants. Dawn also has research interests in SUDI and is a co-investigator on the New Zealand HRC-funded national SUDI case-control study. She is a member of the Pediatric Sleep Clinical Network associated with the Pediatric Society of New Zealand.
